Product code: Resistol vintage hats for men-black with pheasant feathers, good circa 1980s
This Resistol hat is black and includes a feather band made of pheasant feathers. The hat has imbedded a miniature gold Eagle pin. There is also a string tie on the side of the hat. The hat is in great condition considering it is vintage and 30+ years old. There is a small spot on the brim. Not sure what it is. Inside you can see the Resistol stamp with the self-conforming (R) marking and the Hand Creased stamp. The hat was purchased from Jonwal Saddlery that used to be located in Manilus, NY. That stamp is inside hat too. You can see the numbers "17.50" imbedded inside just under the letters BR. Not sure what that means. Hat brim is about 15" L x 14" W. We measured inside brim is 21.5in. We think good BR stands for Byer-Rolnick in Dallas. Tx. According to the Resistol website, Harry Rolnick started the company in 1927 with ER Byer to form Byer-Rolnick. Resistol means Resist All Weather. Beautiful hat worn by many musicians and celebrities. This one is rare.
