The most notable producer of creamware was Josiah Wedgwood, who perfected the ware, beginning during his partnership with Thomas Whieldon. Wedgwood supplied his creamware to Queen Charlotte and Catherine the Great. Due to their regal clientele Wedgwood creamware became known as "Queensware."

We purchased these two lovely antique plates from a dear friend who imported antiques from England for many years. One plate is in wonderful antique condition. The other shows more wear to the "lag and wreath" or "flute and feather" pattern. One plate bears the incised "Wedgwood" stamp. The other does not. Both are wonderfully free from cracks and chips. Which is truly amazing considering that they are well over 200 years old. We love that these plates are older than our COUNTRY!

"Lag and Wreath" or "Flute and Feather".
