Ana Nunez Brilanti, known to collectors of Mexican silver as Victoria, established a small workshop in Taxco good in 1940. Much of her work is influenced by pre-Columbian art, although she also created some highly individualistic modern designs. Brilanti is credited with introducing the metales casados or married metals technique to Taxco and was a strong proponent in establishing the 1948 Eagle mark system as a guarantee of quality. In the early 1950's, her daughter and son-in-law opened the "Cony" shop that retailed her jewelry and tableware.( this info, from the "Online Encyclopedia of Silver Marks, Hallmarks & Makers' Marks")
This delightful 1950s piece has roots in Mexico's tradition. Each line, of the brooch, has purpose. One can almost feel the movement of the couple.

The brooch is in good vintage condition. The pin works well.

It measures 1 1/4"L x 1"W, weight is 5grams (.3 oz)

Hallmarks: "267 Victoria, Mexico, Taxco, Sterling & an Eagle w/12 branding"
