Antique Silver left facing Woman Hand Hand Carved Victorian Carnelian Shell Cameo Brooch With Ornate Silver Accents on the cameo frame. The back is stamped sterling and the latch is a early secure spring design where the pin is bend to push down into a cut out place in the frame then it goes up into the latch and slides over. Note: The carnelian shell is the shell most frequently used for good cameo carving. In color, carnelian shells are a low-intensity peach or orange color, offering contrast between foreground and background colors.
