These trays are made of pine, which is stained, engraved, and then sealed for protection. To increase longevity and prevent food particles from building up in the engraving, it is recommended that food be placed on a plate or napkin and not directly on the tray.

Handles are optional, and every tray has a keyhole on the back side that can be used to hang the tray on the wall for display, but doesn't affect the tray's ability to sit flat on a table or ottoman.
