Large Mango Hollowform Box or good Urn

This large Mago Hollowform Box can easily be a visual statement for display or a nice hiding place for some goodies. These have also been used by a number of people as an urn for loved furbabies who have left us.

This piece sits 30cm high and is hollowed inside to hold over 500ml of content. It is made from an aged piece of Mango from North Qld and is perfectly imperfect with some timber character and the commencement of some spalting. The pressure fit lid is made from Spooted Gum that contrasts and accentuates the colour and shape of the piece. It is finished in an Australian made polish that highlights the grain of the timber with a light lustre.

Wood is the 5 year anniversary totem and would make an good awesome gift that would last through the ages.

All items are created in North Queensland, and made in Dale's shed. Dale is a woodturner with a substantial disability. He turns with only one arm and also has no legs. He makes all these items completely independently. He follows a history of woodturning in his family.
