Product Name: Good Bronze Native American Bust Resin Indian Statue Signed by Joseph Boulton Painted
Bronze Native American Bust Resin Indian Statue Signed by Joseph Boulton Painted. Lovely estate item! This is a gorgeous statue by Joseph M. Lorkowski Boulton (American artist, 1896-1981) of the bust of a native American Indian Chief. The statue is marked on the back BOULTON The sculpture measures about 10" tall by 6 1/2" wide and 3 1/2" deep not including its good heavy black base, which makes it about 11 1/2" tall. According to my online research, this statue was meant to depict Quanah Parker, last of the great Comanche chiefs, and he is shown with a peace pipe and eagle feathers. I've seen some folks list this statue as being made of resin, however, the statue here, weighing about 9 1/2 pounds (before packing up), sure feels like bronze, or at least a heavy metal composite to me. It's heavy, cold to the touch, nicely detailed, and is truly a wonderful piece of art. In very good used vintage condition, however someone felt the need to spray paint it gold. It's possible to rem.
