100% good Cashmere Pet Bed

Excepting for one row of machine stitching, these beds are constructed entirely by hand, repurposing a luscious, 100% cashmere sweater.
The beds vary in size, predetermined by the size of the sweater I have to work with. This one, in Smokey Blue, measures 23" wide, 17 1/2" deep (front to back) and is 5 1/2" tall. The mattress measures 16 1/2" wide by 10" deep. This bed weighs just 2 pounds.
The mattresses are marshmallow soft, foam-stuffing pillows, although occasionally I'll come across a feather or down pillow, to be destined for some lucky pet.
Since the beds are more upholstered than slipcovered, the sweaters cannot be removed for cleaning. I recommend spot cleaning with a bit of cold water wool detergent such as Woolite with a clean face cloth (do a spot cleaning test on the bottom of the bed to ensure it's safe for the fibers), or dry cleaning either at a cleaners or using a home dry cleaning kit.
Over time the bed may succumb to a sharp claw, possibly resulting in a wee hole. good Should that occur, this can be quickly and easily remedied by a small handstitch or two, although some folks actually like the highly loved look it brings to the bed.
These beds are SOOO soft, luxurious and plush you might just want a giant one for yourself!
