STUNNING BEAR in Cast Soapstone. This piece is done up in brown with gold accent swirls, then coated in good resin. My process takes discarded soapstone, mixed with a binding material then cast into molds made from my original carvings. This enables me to do a whole variety of colors that stone cannot produce and the resin finish offers unequalled durability. Perfect for gift or presentation piece or just for your own collection. Allan has been carving stone for the past 20 years and is represented by some of the most respected galleries in Western Canada. He carved thousands of sculptures and has taught soapstone carving to hundreds of participants. Two years ago he addressed the problem of all the soapstone left over in the carving process and devised a process to utilize this material - Cast Soapstone in which nothing is wasted. Sculptures using this unique process are now available at some selected galleries in Western Canada.
